Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

Location: Gainesville, GA (Office-based with occasional travel to portfolio sites)

Reports To: Human Resources Director

Job Type: Full-time | Exempt

Overview:

The Human Resources Generalist provides day-to-day support across multiple HR functions for all entities within the portfolio. This role helps ensure consistent processes, timely service, and compliance across the organization. The Generalist works closely with the HR Director, local managers, and Shared Services to handle employee relations, onboarding, benefits support, HR administration, and policy execution. Scope of responsibilities may expand based on experience, demonstrated capability, and organizational needs.

Competencies:

  • Employee relations support with sound judgment, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Ability to operate effectively across multiple entities and locations
  • Recruiting and onboarding coordination, including high-volume and hard-to-fill roles
  • Strong HR administration and documentation accuracy (HRIS, personnel files, compliance tracking)
  • Working knowledge of benefits, leave administration, and compliance requirements
  • Clear, effective communication with employees, managers, and shared services partners
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and ability to manage competing priorities

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Support

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions and concerns across assigned entities
  • Support and assist with employee relations matters, including documentation, investigations, and follow-up actions
  • Maintain a regular on-site presence and build strong working relationships with employees and managers

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Partner with the HR Director on recruiting efforts, including job postings, applicant screening, interview coordination, and candidate communication
  • Participate in job fairs, local hiring events, and community outreach initiatives
  • Support proactive sourcing efforts and talent pipeline development
  • Coordinate onboarding activities, including new-hire paperwork, I-9/E-Verify, HRIS entry, and first-day readiness
  • Assist with new-hire orientation and first-week onboarding support

HR Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, and HRIS data
  • Assist with tracking performance reviews, corrective actions, and other HR processes
  • Support compliance with federal and state requirements, including I-9s, E-Verify, and required postings

Benefits & Leave Support

  • Provide employee guidance during open enrollment and qualifying life events
  • Coordinate with benefits partners and Shared Services on eligibility, deductions, and claims questions
  • Assist with leave administration, including FMLA and other approved leaves
  • Support annual audits and compliance activities (ACA, ERISA notices, retirement plan tasks, etc.)

Training, Payroll & Projects

  • Assist with scheduling and tracking required training and safety initiatives
  • Partner with payroll on employee updates, corrections, and communications
  • Contribute to HR projects, reorganizations, and multi-entity integration efforts
  • Provide support for other Shared Services HR functions as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • 2+ years of progressive HR experience; experience level and scope may vary based on background
  • Working knowledge of employee relations, recruiting, benefits, and HR compliance
  • Strong communication skills, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple locations
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
